Have a question? We have some answers.
What is your process?
Complimentary Consult
We encourage all patients to book a complimentary 15 minute consult with their preferred practitioner. At The Clara Clinic we want to ensure you’re receiving the best care possible, and therefore seeing the right practitioner for you. This is your opportunity to briefly discuss your health concerns, ask questions, and get to know the practitioners better so you can feel confident going forward. It also allows us to determine if we are the best fit to help you. If for some reason we feel we’re not a good fit, we will always provide you with a referral to a more appropriate practitioner. Please note, no treatment is given at this appointment.
Initial Appointment
Upon booking your first appointment you will receive an email containing our initial intake forms, which we ask that you complete and send back to us prior to your appointment, or bring with you. If you have recent test results or blood work it is important to bring a copy with you or email it to the clinic in advance.
The primary focus of your first visit is to gather necessary information for both diagnosis and development of your custom treatment plan. This provides us with a comprehensive picture of your past medical history, your current health concerns, and your future health goals. At the end of the visit, you will receive a customized health care plan to get started on, and have a better idea of future directions and number of visits required.
Follow Up Appointment
Follow-up appointments are often shorter in length, as these are used to provide ongoing treatment, as well as monitor your progress and modify your treatment plan as necessary. Depending on the type of service you’re interested in, the first follow-up visit may be booked anywhere from 1-4 weeks after your initial intake, and subsequent follow-up visits will be booked further apart. As you continue with care, we often do not require follow-ups as frequently and prefer bi-annual check ins.
If you have not been to the clinic in 2 years, we will book you an initial appointment to allow us the time needed to get caught up on how you have been since your last visit, and what has changed that we need to know about.
What do I bring to my first appointment?
We ask that prior to your first appointment, you take the time to complete our initial intake forms. We also ask that any recent blood work, imaging, or testing be sent to us in advance of your visit in order to more efficiently use our time together.
Do you offer virtual care or telemedicine?
Absolutely! Telemedicine and virtual care not only saves you time but enables you to access care from anywhere in Ontario (if you live outside of Ontario we cannot care for you through Telemedicine but are always happy to refer you to someone in your province or state). Our online booking gives you the option of choosing an in-person or virtual appointment, so you can make the choice that’s right for you.
For virtual telemedicine consultations, we use Jane, a secure, Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) compliant platform. If you prefer a telephone consultation, be prepared at the contact number you have indicated.

If you are late for your appointment, please call clinic reception. Please note if you are late your scheduled appointment will still end on time and the appointment fee will remain unchanged.
