facial acupuncture & led light therapy

A safe and effective way to reverse cellular damage, and rejuvenate the skin

What Is Facial Acupuncture?

Facial acupuncture is the gentle insertion of fine needles into specific points on the face and body. This stimulation increases circulation, promotes collagen and elastin production, and balances the body's energy flow, known as Qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine. By addressing both the physical and energetic aspects of the face and body, facial acupuncture can help reverse cellular damage, and rejuvenate the skin.

Facial acupuncture can help address the following concerns:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Sagging skin

  • Dull complexion

  • Uneven skin tone

  • Acne and other skin conditions

Is Facial Acupuncture Nature’s Botox?

Despite common beliefs, facial acupuncture serves a different purpose than Botox. While both treatments aim to enhance skin appearance, they do so in different ways. Botox temporarily freezes facial muscles to reduce deep wrinkles, while facial acupuncture stimulates muscle activity to improve tone, complexion, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

LED Light Therapy

At the Clara Clinic, we combine facial acupuncture with LED therapy to enhance skin treatment outcomes. LED therapy utilizes specific wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin and stimulate cellular activity, which further boosts collagen production, improves blood circulation, and calms inflammation. Additionally, lymphatic drainage techniques such as gua sha and facial cupping are incorporated to improve blood circulation, relax facial muscles, and promote the body’s natural lymphatic drainage. These techniques aim to provide a temporary lifting effect, reduce puffiness, and improve the overall appearance of the skin.

If I have a skin condition, is facial acupuncture for me?

Yes! Incorporating facial acupuncture along with an individualized treatment plan from a naturopathic doctor (ND) can offer great improvements in skin health. NDs take a comprehensive approach to health, addressing underlying imbalances that contribute to skin concerns such as hormonal fluctuations or digestive issues. By utilizing this holistic approach, you can optimize your skin health and achieve long-lasting results that also promote overall well-being.

what to expect

Do I need to be an existing patient to get Facial Acupuncture & LED Light Therapy?

You can be a new or an existing patient of ours to receive facial acupuncture & LED light therapy! If you are a new patient or an existing patient of ours seeing a different practitioner, we recommend booking a complimentary 15 minute consult with Dr. Simone Pirita, ND to ensure you are booking in for the most appropriate appointment type.

How many sessions will I need?

While some individuals may notice improvements after just one session, the full benefits of facial acupuncture often become more apparent with repeated treatments. A typical course of treatment may involve weekly or bi-weekly sessions over several weeks, depending on your goals and the severity of your concerns. Consistency is key to achieving optimal results, as each session builds upon the progress made in previous treatments.

How do I track treatment progression?

It's important to approach facial acupuncture with realistic expectations, as results may unfold gradually over time. While some individuals may experience immediate improvements in skin tone, texture, and overall radiance, others may notice more subtle changes that become increasingly noticeable with continued treatment. Patience and commitment to the process are essential for achieving lasting results.

Does Facial Acupuncture hurt?

The needles we use for facial acupuncture are extremely tiny! You may feel a prick as the needle goes in, but most people feel very comfortable.
